Making Veterinary Care More Accessible
Access to veterinary care is becoming increasingly difficult for families and shelters across the country. Rising costs, limited availability of veterinarians, and growing community needs have left many pet owners struggling to provide even basic care. These challenges often lead to heartbreaking surrenders—pets entering shelters not because they are unwanted, but because their families cannot access or afford the care they need.
The Duffield Pet Wellness Days program, A BISSELL Pet Foundation initiative, in partnership with the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, was created to help bridge these gaps. By supporting animal shelters and communities in developing innovative ways to keep pets healthy and families together, this program offers flexibility and compassion where it’s needed most. Not every organization is ready to launch a full-scale wellness program, and that’s okay. The beauty of this model is that it can be adapted to meet your community where it is today.
Whether your shelter is providing wellness care for homeless pets, partnering with local veterinarians, or reaching underserved neighborhoods through street outreach programs, the Duffield Pet Wellness Days program is here to support by providing contract veterinary services to achieve your goal.
