Healing Heartworm

In 2021, BPF initiated the Healing Heartworm program, providing funding to destination shelters for treating heartworm-positive dogs from our transport operations. Additionally, grant funding is awarded to select shelter partners committed to transporting and treating heartworm-positive dogs from our southern shelter partners, while preventive medicine doses are distributed to prevent future heartworm occurrences.
