Calling All Pinterest Fanatics - Pinning forPets is Here!

Just in time for the Thanksgiving season, BISSELL Homecare Inc. (BISSELL) launched Pinning for Pets. This social media campaign encourages Pinterest users to create virtual pin boards to support homeless pets between November 2 and November 30. For each Pinning for Pets Board registered via BISSELL’s Facebook Page, the company will gift $10 to the BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) up to $50,000. All funds raised through this campaign will then benefit the Petfinder.com Foundation’s Rescue U program.

“As longtime advocates for pet adoption, we know animal shelters and rescue groups play a vital role in creating a second chance for homeless pets, and they often have extremely limited resources to provide the necessary care needed until these pets are adopted. By simply creating a Pinning for Pets board, everyone has the opportunity to support shelters and better the welfare of homeless animals,” Cathy Bissell – Founder, BISSELL Pet Foundation

Rescue U helps animal welfare organizations across the country by providing grants for shelter renovations that will benefit the pets in their care. The program recruits college students and other volunteers to form local “chapters.” Each chapter dedicates vacation time and school breaks to complete the much needed updates. Many of the Rescue U grants fund projects that directly benefit the animals, such as building ergonomic dog beds for a shelter’s kennels or providing agility equipment to provide enrichment to shelter dogs. BPF is proud to support Rescue U and the many animals that benefit from their work.

All Pinning for Pets participants will be entered into weekly prize drawings for a chance at various pet clean-up products, in addition to a $250 donation to their local Petfinder.com shelter. Getting started is as easy as 1,2,3…
